Playgroup Policy

We are not a school/kindergarten but a playgroup run mainly by volunteer mothers in the church premises. As there are expenses involved in the running of this group, we would require a fixed contribution from parents to help defray costs.

We would also wish to communicate to you about God’s love; as such there will be Bible stories, prayers and Christian songs.

In order to maintain goodwill among all parties, both parents of the child would need to be fully aware of the above and therefore give full consent for the child to participate in all the playgroup activities, as well as for the parents to make financial contributions as and when required upon submitting the registration form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is it for?
Children 6 months to 5 years (accompanied by parent)
Children above 2 yrs will enjoy most of the activities and craft. Babies may enjoy the songs and story telling

What/Who should I bring to the playhouse?
  1. Your child’s own drink (if you wish to) and a change of clothes.
  2. Please bring your maid only if you intend to provide an extra pair of hands to help in the cleaning up or if you have more than one child.

Who keeps the toys?
Your child ought only to play with one toy at a time. Mom sees that your child returns the toy to its original position before taking another toy. Ensure there are no missing parts. An incomplete toy may frustrate the next child playing with it.

What do I do during the Song, Story and Craft session?
Moms, you are an important role to your child. By participating together with your child, he will feel you are with him in the activities. Continue to sing the songs with your child throughout the week. Please keep your child with you at all times to ensure the smooth running of the sessions. If your child is distressed/crying, please take him to another room and bring him back to the sessions after he has calmed down, failing which a helper will assist you.

How do we fund the Playgroup?
S☼nshine Playĥouse is a non-profit making playgroup. A contribution of RM20 per child is collected at the beginning of each quarter (i.e. 3 months) for the purpose of covering expenses e.g. art & craft materials, stationery, new toys, beverages, etc.

How may I help?

  1. A snack chart is pinned up on the notice board. Write your name on the chart if you wish to help provide simple and healthy snacks. RM20 will be refunded to you for each contribution.
  2. You may also help by cleaning up & keeping the tables and chairs after snack time.

The above suggestions are purely voluntary on your part. You are always welcomed just to relax with us!)

What if I am unable to attend for a period of time?
Do inform us in advance of your intended absence. This helps us plan accordingly and we will continue to place your child on our register.

May I bring my maid along?
In line of our objectives, we do not encourage you to bring your maid along. Let this be your quality time with your child.
